LVR & CPR training courses in Brisbane

Most people are unaware of LVR Training, although it is increasingly being recognised as an important skill for those working in areas with constant exposure to electricity such as electricians, or industries where wiring or electrical components are extensively used.

Under the Electrical Safety Act 2002, and the Work, Health and Safety Act 2011, employers are obliged to provide both safety training and safety equipment to prevent any electrical emergencies in workplaces where there is a high risk of exposure to live wires.

LVR is an acronym for Low Voltage Rescue. Fluid First Aid conducts LVR CPR training courses in Brisbane that will provide you with the knowledge on how to deal with accidental electrocution, together with CPR training.

Danger resulting from electrical contact

People that come in contact with exposed live wires will experience electrical shock. Exposure to live wires in homes and at workplaces are common accidents that occur frequently.

The result of this contact with live high voltage wires is electrocution, which more often than not results in death. Exposure to low voltage wires may in some case cause death, but often results in electric shock and burns.

Taking the LVR course will equip you with not only knowledge on low voltage rescue, but covers the risk management component for this type of emergency as well. This teaches you not only how to save someone from electrocution, but also how to keep yourself from also becoming a casualty.

Low voltage electrical burns

Any form of direct contact with live wiring will cause an electrical current to be transmitted directly to the person, causing electrical shock.

A large voltage will almost certainly kill instantly, while lower voltage can kill if current flows through the central nervous system or heart, or may cause a person to become unconscious. A person suffering from low voltage electrical shock will most likely suffer electrical burns.

Typical electrical injuries that occur include:

  • Fatal high voltage exposure resulting in electrocution
  • Low voltage exposure resulting in electrical shock
  • Burns from exposure to live wires
  • Possible trauma from falls

Brisbane’s most accessible LVR courses and training

Any public-facing business, with customers who spend time on their premises, should recognise the importance of CPR LVR training. While developing a brand and setting up shop is always the most forefront thing on a business owner’s mind, the safety of customers and clients should never be forgotten, and with CPR LVR online and in-person training, you can ensure you’re prepared for any event.

We work around your schedule with our online video learning system, meaning you can log in and learn at whatever time that suits you.

Our team developed our courses to be informative and entertaining, too, so we’re sure you’ll never be bored. We have a sense of humour, and we help you learn by encouraging you to take part in our scenario-based workshops. It’s a great way to learn on your own or to bring your team members together and learn as part of a workgroup.

Comprehensive LVR training and education

Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines dictate that businesses must have members of staff with the skills and knowledge to give cardiopulmonary resuscitation (or CPR) and low voltage rescue (LVR) to those who have stopped breathing.

These are methods that use practical techniques as well as an Automated External Defibrillator to restart somebody’s heart. Our LVR training explains how to use this equipment, helps you to understand the electrical hazards involved with using the machinery, and how to inspect the device to ensure it is safe to use. We teach you and your colleagues how to effectively use the equipment on an individual, simulating rescue and making you as familiar as you need to be with this life-saving kit.

Our CPR course shows you the duty of care requirements set out by Australian law and teaches you the science of unconscious breathing and how to ensure somebody remains breathing. This will involve practical performances and hands-on classes, as well as our online course that delivers you the knowledge you need about the science behind CPR.

Our CPR and low voltage rescue training in Brisbane keep you within the realms of the law, and also gives you the confidence to save a life if you ever need to.

Low-cost, time-saving training

We know that additional training can be cumbersome and get in the way of a busy schedule, which is why we’ve designed our service to save you time and money. A combination of hands-on training and online courses ensure that you can choose the time to learn and work at a quicker pace thanks to our informative, casual, and friendly class style.
