This course is intended for anyone who may be required to provide CPR as an emergency first response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. CPR is one of the most basic and critical skills that anyone can and should learn!

Cheap CPR courses, training & refreshers in Brisbane

CPR is a life-saving procedure used immediately on an injured or sick person if breathing has stopped. It is necessary to perform emergency CPR to try to restore a heartbeat and breathing. Knowing when and how to perform CPR is such a crucial element in this procedure, with prompt attention making a difference between life and death.

For comprehensive and quality CPR Training in Brisbane, Fluid First Aid runs individual and corporate courses, designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge to save a life. Knowing how to perform CPR correctly could help save the life of someone you love.

Learning the procedure

As soon as you find yourself in a medical emergency situation, the first thing you should ascertain before taking any action is whether the danger or hazard is still present. Should you find it is, then you should remove yourself and the casualty from further harm if possible.

If the person is unconscious, the next thing is to try to ascertain if they are breathing or not. If they are not, then CPR must be administered as quickly as possible. Our comprehensive CPR course covers:

  • How to recognise cardiac arrest
  • How to manage an unconscious individual
  • How to perform CPR on an adult
  • How to perform CPR on a child and infant
  • How to use a defibrillator (AED)
  • The law and CPR
  • How to keep yourself safe when performing CPR

And our course has both a theory and practical component to ensure that you not only know how and why you perform certain actions but how to do them correctly.

Situations where CPR is applied

Cardiac arrest normally occurs as a result of choking, drowning, electrocution or trauma. Whatever the cause, a person’s life will depend on how quickly they receive emergency first aid, in the event that they cannot be immediately seen by medical personnel.

CPR is a procedure to restore flow of blood to the heart and brain, where this has stopped and should be done as quickly as possible. Delay in commencing the protocol can result in damage to the brain and death.

The great thing about CPR is that a trained lay person can effectively perform the procedure and preserve a life. CPR should be performed on a person who is unconscious and seems to have ceased breathing, no matter what apparent cause

The CPR protocol

A person who is not receiving oxygen will very soon lose consciousness  and suffers brain damage after four to six minutes. The CPR protocol, or resuscitation as it is otherwise known, is not taught with the intention of re-starting a heart that has stopped. However that can be achieved with a public access defibrillator y medical personnel who would hopefully arrive shortly after the cardiac arrest.

Rather, the CPR protocol is applied by trained first aiders to extend the small window of opportunity for survival by learning to compress the chest through applying pressure that creates artificial circulation and ventilating the lungs by blowing air in through the mouth.

How to book your training

In areas where large groups of people congregate, there are higher chances of medical emergencies occurring. This means that CPR courses including AED training are especially vital in areas such as schools and workplaces.

Our CPR Training can be individual or group based and is tailored to fit into your schedule. Furthermore, our costs are very reasonable, and our courses comprise enjoyable and engaging online video lessons, and practical hands-on training in several locations in Brisbane.

1st Aid CPR Training for everyone

Have you ever attended a course that was long and boring with info that just wasn’t relevant to what you signed up to learn? If so, we understand and it’s for this reason that we go to great lengths to ensure that all info provided in our 1st Aid CPR Training courses is relevant, concise and delivered in a way that makes it easy to absorb and, most importantly, remember.

Why should I do CPR training?

Here at Fluid First Aid, we believe CPR is one of the most basic and critical skills that anyone can and should learn. A person who is not receiving oxygen will quickly lose consciousness and will suffer brain damage after four to six minutes. The purpose of CPR is to increase the opportunity for survival by providing artificial circulation and ventilation through chest compression and rescue breaths.

This course is for anyone who may be required to perform CPR as an emergency response in a range of situations. Cardiac arrest usually occurs as a result of choking, drowning, electrocution, or trauma, and may affect people of all ages, genders, and abilities.

As emergency situations may occur anywhere (whether at home, in public, or in the work place), we believe that everyone should learn CPR as knowing how to perform it safely and correctly could help to save the life of someone you love.

What will I learn?

Our first aid CPR training is the standard CPR qualification for workplace first aiders Australia-wide. Not only can it save the life of your customers, but it could save your life too one day.

Understanding CPR can even prevent brain death, which occurs between four and six minutes after the heart has stopped beating. There are no reasons to miss out, either. Our CPR business classes are designed to get you involved, to have a little fun, and to come out of it having learned something really important. You and your team can feel confident that in the case of an emergency, you can handle the situation until the paramedics arrive.
